Visitors to Governors Island were invited to fill out a survey in exchange for an original signed artwork - a rubbing from the survey's set of images. The survey asked about memories and relationships to water as well as offering a page of symbols to order by importance or meaning. The symbols are images representing histories of exchange, cultures and products exchanged overseas
